Coytesville Days

Hi Folks!
I ran into this site quite by accident but I'm hoping to touch base with someone who remembers the fabulous 50s in "fabulous" Coytesville. My family moved to the town around 1952 from New York City when I was about 9 years old and my sister Fran was 7. My brother Jimmy was born the same year and my Dad & Mom were Jack & Helen Alfano. I attended Our Lady of Fatima in Fort Lee until high school when I started at St. Cecilia's High Schol in Englewood in 1957. My sister Fran attended Fort Lee High about 2 years later. We lived on 6th street and went to church at Holy Trinity. Some of my pals at the time from 6th street were Bill Koenig, Neil Sheehan, Danny Ciccarelli and the Zwernemanns. The Low family lived over on 7th street, Winnie, Mary, George, John, Billy & Larry. One of my best friends was Jack Bernard who lived on the other side of town and I went to St. Cecilia's with Gail Quinn and Jack Whitaker.I had the opportunity to go back a couple of years ago and the only landmarks still evident were Holy Trinity and the liquor store. Quite depressing to see that 6th street had become a row of small houses side by side, not to mention a one-way street.
Anyway, would love to hear from anyone with similar memories.
