No need to get so defensive. Just check out the NJ Dept of Education website. They have report cards of every school in NJ, and for each school in Fort Lee, they list the percentage of students whose first language is English, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, etc. The percentage for Korean is anywhere from around 20% (School 4) to 37.5% (School 3). The middle school lists 20.6%. The percentage who speak English at home as a first language ranges between mid 30s-mid forties. It is always less than 50%. You are correct in that there are also other Asian languages (Chinese and Japanese). I'm not knocking Koreans or other Asians. The point is that when Caucasian people look for homes, they are less likely to buy in Fort Lee and have their child a minority in the school system than another town where that would not be the case. The concept of "tipping point" applies here. Fort Lee has passed the tipping point, and the future will be that Asians will buy more of the homes and Caucasians less. That applies especially to those with kids. If you live in a high rise and don't have kids, it's less of an issue. It's only natural that Asian kids associate with others like them, and they tend to exclude non-Asians. All language/ethnic groups are like that. So why would a white parent choose that environment for their child? If I'm going to spend $400,000 plus for a house, I'll look in a town that is not heading towards that direction. This is not a knock on Asians, their intelligence, etc. But there's no disputing that Fort Lee is heading in the same direction as Palisades Park -- it's become a town that young white families interested in buying a house pass by because it is too Asian. That may be racist in some ways, but it's also racist that Asians move there precisely because it is heavily Asian. That's human nature!
