Linda: Horizon House is one of the least affected places as far as Asians go. There are not many Asians there. If you don't have kids in the schools, the Asian issue is much less important. The issue is that Asians have become so numerous that the town fails to attract Caucasian buyers for homes. The schools therefore have become very Asian, and that creates an ethnic Balkanization in the schools. Koreans naturally gravitate to other Koreans, and they don't have much to do with the Caucasian kids. I don't like the idea that my child would be a minority in the schools. The Koreans have their own Parents Association in the school - why would that be?
I would love to hear from someone who attends or works in the Fort Lee schools for a true perspective on the good and bad of the issue.
It's good to encourage diversity, but I still want to be in the majority in the town that I live in. Call that racist if you want,it's human nature.
Last point: Elaine: would you have bought in Horizon House if half of the apartments were Korean owned? Be honest!
