Did you ever get any responses? I belonged to the Cliffside Park Library group for a year or so, but they no longer meet in the evening. Have you talked to the library in Fort Lee about doing a book group through them? They have a beautiful room on the second floor as well as a nice, larger room in the basement.
I also have a friend who was a French major who would love to be in contact with you. I hope you are still in Fort Lee. She has talked about getting a group of French speakers together, if she had someone to help her (you!) it would push her to do it!
