...And "the point of this thread" is that a white majority makes for a diverse community? Or a white majority is more friendly towards whites? I'm asian and to some extent, I agree with you. I love ethnic businesses, be they Korean or Russian. They are an opportunity to explore another culture without leaving your backyard. I hate it when they are ethnically exclusive, and some Korean businesses in town are that way. I hate it when a store has no English in it's signage.

Racism lives on in this country, and when you're a minority, you are victimized by it now and then. I wouldn't exactly call this thread racist though. I think a lot of what is spoken is spoken out of fear. Being a minority sucks and I wouldn't blame anyone for fearing it. But you have to realizes; people are in business to make money. Why would any business not want your money? It's because they are fearful of their own inadequacies. They can't deal very well with English, therefore they choose not to. It's to their own detriment. Feel sorry for them. And for those of you who say, "they've been here for decades, why can't they speak english?" I ask you how many languages do you speak? Have you tried finding the time and energy to learn a foreign language while you're working 18 hours a day trying to feed your family and out a roof over their heads.

Change is inevitable. Embrace it and try new things...find out what that Kim Chi is all about. You're not going to around forever to protect your lawn gnome.
