Hello: I took my Mom and Dad, Thomas Flynn to see St. Joseph's two years ago.(2002) because I wanted him to share this hard time of his life with me. He was sent to St. Joseph's in Peekskill because his father had died from TB. On Dec. 7,1922, he and his sister and two brothers were admitted. A little brother stayed at home with his mother. My father was then ten years old. He ran away with his sister, but nuns caught him. He learned to sew, cook, clean and continued to do so until his recent death. (92) While we were there, he spoke of the church (as an altar boy) and the hardships he faced. I took a lot of notes. When we left for home, he said he never thought he would leave St. Joes twice.
