I visited Crystal House last summer, and I didn't like it, although the neighborhood felt nice.
The building itself felt incredibly old and not taken care of well. The elevators had rusty mirrored walls and were poorly lit. The buttons in elevators were those old black plastic ones and they looked like somebody chewed on them for a long time.
I looked at one 1-bedroom on the 7th floor. The hallway itself was very dark and smelled bad. The apartment, for which they wanted $1500 + parking + electricity, had very old kitchen cabinets, appliances and bathroom fixtures. There was no terrace, and the windows faced North, the Pembroke building. At that point I didn't bother looking at amenities.
I think that I got such a negative impression was because the building I currently live in is much nicer (it's in a really bad neighborhood in Brooklyn though), so you may want to check out Crystal House yourself.
