Marilyn, this is sad news indeed. Callahan’s is a fond memory of my childhood. In the 50's & 60's it was where so many kids met to mingle and just have a good time. The building is a landmark. Although I don't live there anymore just knowing it isn't there is going to leave a dent in my heart.
Too bad I can't make it up there for just one more Hot Dog and fries.Oh,let's not forget a cold bottle of Yo-Hoo! Ahhhhhhh, my arteries are bursting with anticipation. The Callahan’s on Rt. 46 just doesn't compare.
I wish the owners good luck and would like to express appreciation for the good old fashiond greasy but great food as well as the patience they displayed over the decades (or at least 1962-1966) with the teenagers of Fort Lee.
