Hi, John,
Even though I did not live in Fort Lee all of my life, my grandparents, parents, and relatives on both sides of the family did their whole lives.
I only attended Holy Trinity in Coytesville, but my deep love and memory of the town stayed forever in my heart.
Remember, John, my entire life I had heard many generations tell stories of the old Fort Lee, and Coytesville, and all of the wonderful people who lived there. I always felt like I never left Fort Lee, and up until recently I visited often.
As I mentioned in a previous post, my grandmother worked for the studios at a very young age, and remained there until she died. I had cousins on the police force, and another uncle who was a former councilman. It was all at a time when everyone knew everyone. That is why I feel the FLO is bringing a little of that familiarity back into town in a modern way!Getting back to the topic... My grandmother welcomed the orphans into her home on a daily basis. On any given night there would be a tableful of children from the home enjoying a home cooked meal!!
