IN RESPONSE TO CURIOUS:
PALISADES AMUSEMENT PARK USED TO HAVE "FREAK SHOWS". AS FAR AS THE "LITTLE YEARLY CARNIVAL" GOES, IT'S NOT A CARNIVAL. IT'S THE SAINT ROCCO FESTIVAL. IT HAS BEEN A TRADITION IN FORT LEE FOR OVER 70 YEARS. THE ONLY YEAR THAT A FEAST WAS NOT HELD WAS IN 1942. IT'S NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT IT USED TO BE. THE NEW COMERS IN TOWN (THOSE THAT HAVE LIVED HERE LESS THAN 20 YEARS) HAVE TIRED TO STOP THE FESTIVAL ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE LATEST INCIDENT WAS BREAKING INTO THE ST ROCCO CHAPEL AND STEALING THE STATUES. BUT, I'M SURE THAT SOME DAY THIS OLD FORT LEE TRADITION WILL ALSO COME TO AN END. SO, WHEN ARE WE GOING TO BE CALLED THE "CITY OF FORT LEE"? WE HAVEN'T BEEN A BOROUGH FOR A LONG TIME.
