yes bobby its your father and me do you still have a boat down the hudson river i grew up with your family they lived on hudson street and your cousin petes father had a parking lot and filled it up every day till the town of fort lee put up the parking lot and put all the parking lot owners out of business by charging them a large fee there all gone i rember for grandfathers house on hudson street my father did the electrie work for them i can rememb er the houses and who lived there starting from main street north to the bridge east side of the street the corner house was mc ardles grosery who bought it from harry cook the butcher the next was eccli garages he had the ice business and two kids billy and his sister was viginia i do rember billy had his finger chopped off from the ice chopper next house was your family i rember anna dont rember the older ones aldo a good punch ball player during lunch at maddona school lemoine ave i have a picture of the last graduation class then there was a grocery store didnt last long because it was turned into a living home and then the russio two brother and a girl i think that jimmy still lives in town then your cousin pete perrino who became a builder i think his sister was pausqulina she wes tough we never went into her yard they wood chase us out with a broom they also had a parkinf lot then a few irish families then jimmy zing the last house i think he was the godfather he had a grocery store never sold anything just a front for the boys i think they found him at the bobbom of the palisades then there was a driveway for the port of authity then a waiting bus stop 30x30 with heat this was a great hang out for the gang it had heat it was made of steel scrapa of the george washing ton bridge had glass with chicken wire in the middle ofhe glass it dont forget i was only 12 to 15 years old then came the hemsley corp. and gave all the people megga bucks for the properties the last oneon hudson street was chizzle weber held out for 2 million he had a few bucks dont know what
ener happend to him because they stsrted building stores on lemoine ave and a movie house and at the other end there was a&p store which had moved from main street al mare was the mananger as the leases ran out on the stores they knocked them down but as you know there are a few stories left now dont forget this is onlt the east side of hudson street when i see yua ill give you the other side i used to park cars at the bill milleres riveria i was 13 years old at the time and made my money when the show broke we would run for the cars and bring them to the front of the riveria and open the door for the driver and he would give a tip the doorman charlie would take it from you and this was his concession but in the other hand of minewas a quarter he really gave a dollar which went into my sleve till i went for another car we had to hide our loot somewhere in a tree or under a rock and pick it up after work charlie would check our pockets or it slowed us downthen we would go down to the fort lee diner and big big big marie would give us some bills for it or we played crap in front of the diner till the cops came and then we would scatter i do rember anew car pcar pulling up and it was a tucker and the guy who got out ofit asked if he can park it close to the exit it was viewed by everyone as they came to the entrance he gave me a 5.00 and charlie 10.00 i think he was jimmy darente by the way charlie took my 5.00 but i made up for it in othr ways i worked there every night because i was the cloosest house to the riveria i do rember all the stars they all had engagements some for two weeks some of the starw were dick haynes frakkee sinatra. all the big bands dorseys harry james louie armstrong louie prima pupe campo was the secondary band the stage held the band while they played it was a 30 or 40 foot round stage and when the band finished playinf the stage turned arround and the next band was playing when there was a good show the place was packed they had little wooden hamers that they had to bang on the glasses on the table wish i had one now oh yea the roof also had a large round opening
