Everybody Loved Sister Rose.....My brother told a story of her teaching rerading....One Day she asked for a word beginning with "W". My brother answereed "WHISKEY" - and pop promptly got a call to inquire if there was drinking goi' on in the home......Well, pop liked westerns - and whar does a cowboy order in a saloon?? WHISKEY....a simple explanation - but it shows the concern the sisters had even back then....Another time Sr. Rose mentioned that every word had to have a vowel....a kid raised his hand and said" I know a word without a vowel..."mmmmmmmmmmmmmm". Her answer was "I'll "mmmmmmmmmmmmmm you" I didn't know that was a word until I discovered girls - then"mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" became part of my daily vocabulary.
