Don't kid yourself..there are still quite a few of us "Fort Leeites" left in Fort Lee and Coytesville for that matter. Some of us have banded together and worked with new residents to form the Fort Lee Museum on 1588 Palisade Avenue in the old Judge Moore House. Last night we had two fellas who worked at the Riviera and are still in Fort lee discuss their memories of The Riv. One, Rocky the Barber, still cuts hair at Alberto's across from the old Fort Lee Diner - we enlarged a photo of Rocky with Sinatra at the Riviera as he cut Sinatra's hair as he did many celebs of the day. The other "legend" of The Riviera is waiter Lou Gallo. They will join us to welcome members of Bill Miller's and Ben Marden's families to the museum at an upcoming reception. The Riviera exhibit will be up in our museum through January 2006 and I encourage all of you within driving distance to check it out - museum hours are weekends from noon to 4pm. And as a matter of fact a good friend of mine who works with us at the museum, Fort Lee Historical Society and the Fort Lee Film Commission is Donna Brennan. So you see there are plenty of us left here who love Fort Lee and who are working with newer residents to promote our great history. I read all of your memories and enjoy them greatly. I was born in 1961 and grew up in Coytesville and my memories of Gus Beckers and Holy Trinity School and Monsignor Reilly etc are great ones. I still live in Fort Lee and my mom is still in Coytesville as are many of my friends. Those times were great but as much as Fort Lee has changed it remains as it always will a great town.
