Ryke, it seems that you have absolutely no clue what you're talking about. I grew up in Fort Lee, lived there all my life, went to one of the elementary schools, middle school, and the high school, walked every street in Fort Lee, and would not have a problem ever letting my kids walk around town by themselves at any time (of course you want to be prudent as you would anywhere - you don't really want your kids walking around at 3am anywhere, but generally my statement is true). There was a rape recently in the Coytesville section of Fort Lee and that was huge news as that stuff doesn't really happen too much in Fort Lee. Killings? I believe there were maybe 3 murders in the last 20 years that I can remember (yes, i'm including the "bad" sections). Of course there's going to be crime everywhere, but when you compare Fort Lee to the ghettos, that's going a bit too far. The only problem with Fort Lee is probably the traffic during the day. I have not heard of the "Deuville", but I can assure you that there are no random gunshots anywhere in Fort Lee. Pretty much there is a "rich" section of town (east of Palisades Ave, where there are some really nice homes with a great view of NYC) and there is the middle class. There are no ghetto/slums/whatever.
