Paul Ortlip had his last studio in Fort Lee on the corner of Bigler and Main Street - as a kid I was there when he had an opening party in the early 1970s. The studio was made out of parts of his original studio atop the Palisades that was knocked down for high-rises (Century - River Ridge). Paul sold the Bigler Street studio some time ago and he moved to Florida full time - the Bigler St. studio was torn down a few years back. We did have the honor of getting Paul to come to the Fort Lee Museum for an exhibit / reception and a year or so ago he helped us restore a painting his father did of Washington atop the cliffs of the Palisades - the painting was found in the basement of School # 1. Check out this great book "We Became Like A Hand, A Story of Five Sisters" - the author is Paul's daughter Carol Ortlip. This book shares her memories of growing up in Fort Lee in the Ortlip family. Hope this helps.
