Hi Chris,
I loved the Jade room. The food was great, especially the Egg Rolls. Do you remember the games? I loved the little Boxers that were propelled by water pressure. There was a windshield wiper inside to clean off the water so you could see what was going on. Then there was the Baseball game. State of the art game for the time. My Dad and brother bowled in a league there. The Jade lost a ton of business when the 9 W alleys opened up. So sad.
The Food Fair is where we shopped in the 50's -60's until they built the Shop-Rite.
Do you remember the Luncheonette? The owner was Charlie and the Lime Ricky's were to die for. He had a daughter named Pat that I went to FLHS with. I seem to remember a toy store in that strip of stores. I got my first Barbie and Jill dolls from there.
How about Barney's Sinclair station on the corner of Linwood? He did all the repairs on our car. Then he moved to East Main St. He and his right hand man Skip were very nice and honest to here my Dad tell it.
I miss the Foet Lee I grew up in but, I'm happy that we can share the memories.
Zoey
