At Main Street, back then and still to this day, Lemoine Ave. is only the south bound side of NJ67, the northbound side of NJ67 is not Lemoine Ave, it's Schlosser St. And the building that Sam's French Cleaner's was in is still there, immediately to the west of the former Atlas 5&10 building. Between what was Sam's and the corner of Schlosser and Main is the bank, which replaced both a brick house on a 50x100 lot and that tiny odd shaped piece of property Creamer still owned.
Before our time, Lemoine Ave. didn't go south of Main Street, Schlosser's Hotel was on what is now 200 Main and where Lemoine is just south of Main. Schlosser St. did go south of Main and Creamer's original business, a gas station, was at Main and Schlosser. I don't know if there's any Schlossers still there, but Lester Schlosser's house was just behind 200 Main (still is). I can remember Lester's father (also Lester) getting beer from the Fort Lee Tavern in a milk can late at night when you had to use containers.
I grew up in that neighborhood in my Grandfather's house.
