If you look at the state rankings of the top 75 best high schools in NJ, Fort Lee was #43. That is pretty good considering that Leonia was #82 and Cliffside Park was just past #250. I believe that Tenafly and Fort Lee were the only towns in Bergen County that were on the list of the top 75.
Are schools in Tenafly better than those in Fort Lee? Yes. But let's be honest, not too many people can afford a house in Tenafly. The home prices and property taxes are sky high up there. Fort Lee gives you a lot of bang for your buck. For the price of a brand new 5 bedroom house in Fort Lee, you will probably get some run down fixer-upper that is half the size in Tenafly.
