If I was looking to buy today, it would be a no brainer-- I would buy in Tenafly or a comparable town. I've been a homeowner in Fort Lee for over 20 years and have seen the town change demographically. But I don't want to imply that Fort Lee is a bad place to live. You can't beat its location, and the schools are "OK" if not top notch.
There are a lot of personal reasons why people stay put rather than make a move.
