Wow, Peter, I am sorry to hear about your experience here at Plateau Gardens and the treatment you have received from your neighbor(s).
I have rented here and live here for almost 10 years now and my wife and I LOVE it!! I live in the circle, directly behind the Anderson entrance and enjoy sitting on the stoop chatting with my wife, exchanging pleasantries with my neighbors and watching the kids enjoy the grounds for hours on end on most days (although the heat has kept most folks, including the energetic youngsters, inside the past few days).

Now, as far as your statue, I agree with you. People here do many things with the "so-called" common grounds-- one guy across my way put down nice pavers and has a Barbeque and little sitting area outside his place-- its really cool, and very well done. Other people make gardens outside their homes and many more have planted beautiful flowers of all kinds outside theirs. I can't see why you can't express your own individuality by placing your statue outside your apartment as I have seen many people give their place a personal touch with all kinds of interesting outdoor "accessories."

Anyway, if you want help, support, whatever, let me know-- my wife and I will go to the board meeting with you.
As a young mid-thirties guy recently married who honestly enjoys how, over the past 5-6 years or more, new residents have affected very positive changes here at Plateau Gardens-- I would be happy to support you with our presence. It seems unfair that residents can modify their surroundings, beautify their entrances and that you wouldn't be allowed to do the same.
Besides, my wife and I have been discussing doing something with the space outside our own unit and don't quite know what the rules are so it would give us a chance to go and find out. Let me know and we'll go if you'd like.
