Ridgefield Fire chief & community volunteer dies

Purple and black bunting adorns the Ridgefield Fire Department station on Bergen Boulevard and Oakdene Avenue, in memory of former Chief Victor Fugnitti, who passed away on Monday, March 16.

Born October, 18, 1960 in Jersey City, Vic and his wife Debbie had five children: Eric, Michael, Daniel, Dallas, and Victoria.

In addition to his volunteer service to his community at large as a member and chief of the Ridgefield Volunteer Fire Department, Vic was also known for his dedication to Ridgefield's children, coaching soccer, baseball, and wrestling.

Visitation will be at the A.K. Macagna Funeral Home in Cliffside Park (495 Anderson Avenue) Wednesday 7-9PM and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9PM. Funeral services will begin at Macagna's on Friday, March 20 at 9:15AM, with a funeral mass at St. Matthew's R.C. Church in Ridgefield at 10:15AM and interment to follow at George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fugnitti Education Fund, 602 Elm Avenue, Ridgefield, NJ 07657
